The American Bar Association is celebrating the third week of October as National Mediation Week. This year’s specific focus is on civility. Civility holds our nation together and can make or break any professional relationship. Many times the ‘magic’ of mediation comes from a return to civil discourse. Often we become so lost in the anger that we forget how to present our thoughts in a manner that others can hear them. It may be easier to ‘call it like it is,’ but we all know that honey takes us further than vitriol.
