The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) and the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution (ABA) has declared the week of October 14th to October 20th as Mediation Week. National, state and local organizations dedicate this week to educate the public about mediation and other innovative conflict management processes. During Mediation Week the ABA and ACR encourages all citizens to model the use of civility, non-disparagement, dialogue, problem solving, and other collaborative practices in their interactions and to learn more about alternative dispute resolution, and how it can be utilized to manage conflict effectively. This week is also a great opportunity to learn how conflict resolution is being used in schools, families, businesses, communities, governments and the legal system.
